About Cirklr

Good things deserve
another chapter.

A book has more than one reader. An item can have more than one use. We’re building Cirklr to help the things around us become part of someone else’s day.

The reason to build it

More life
for everyday things.

A more circular economy can begin with a very ordinary decision: use something that already exists.

Cirklr makes space for those decisions. People can lend, borrow and give items away through circles for housing associations, neighbours and local groups.

We want the app to make that easier. The people, the things they choose to offer and the care they take with each exchange are what give it meaning.

What guides us

Small choices.
A worthwhile direction.

Use what exists

Something can be useful long after its first owner stops needing it. Lending and giving things away can help that happen.

Keep it close

Local sharing creates opportunities to meet through an ordinary exchange, in a group you choose to be part of.

Leave room for choice

People decide what to offer, who to share it with and which requests to accept. The exchange starts with an agreement.

A SMALL CONTRIBUTION TO SOMETHING SHARED

Help Cirklr keep growing.

Cirklr is a young app and is not yet profitable. We’re building it because we believe in local sharing and a more circular economy, where the things we already have get used.

The modest, largely symbolic membership fee helps with continued development and running costs, and supports an initiative we want to keep building.

Plenty of room to begin for free

You can send requests without paid membership if a shared circle containing the item has 20 or fewer members or 30 or fewer items.

When both limits are exceeded, sending requests normally requires paid membership unless an exemption applies.

SEK 40 per person per year

Membership renews automatically each year. You can stop renewal in your profile and check the expiry date shown there.

A few practical details

If you and the owner share several circles, it is enough for one circle containing the item to meet the free-access rule. Circle admins are also exempt for requests within a shared circle they administer. If you were granted free access when joining a circle with 20 or fewer members, that exemption lasts one year from joining.

The membership fee is separate from any contribution towards operating costs requested by an item owner. Voluntary donations are one-off payments and do not replace membership.

Cirklr is a young application. We want to keep improving it with a clear purpose: making local sharing easier.
