How it works

A weekend away.
Without buying
the whole kit.

Your neighbour’s tent could be the start of your next adventure. Here’s how an idea becomes a request, a handover and a happy return.

Illustrative sharing story

From cupboard to campsite

Four stops.
One useful exchange.

Maja and Sam belong to the same housing-association circle. Sam shares a tent; Maja is planning a trip. Here’s a fictional example of how they could share it.

  1. 01

    The circle

    Find your people

Join a circle for your housing association or local group. Joining options depend on the circle’s settings. If you have an invitation, follow it to get started.

  2. 02

    The request

    Make a plan

Browse items shared with your circles. Send the owner a request and include collection and return dates where required.

  3. 03

    The conversation

    Arrange the handover

The owner can accept or decline. Use the request conversation to agree when and where to meet.

“Shall we meet by the bike room on Friday?”Maja · Example conversation
  4. 04

    The return

    Bring it back

Return the item as agreed and complete the exchange in Cirklr. A little care makes the next loan easier.

Something to offer?

Give what’s in the cupboard
another outing.

A picnic set, a sewing machine or a board game. Add an item, describe it and select the circles you’d like to share it with.

You decide which requests to accept. Items are available to people in the selected circles, rather than a public item catalogue.

You choose

01What you offer

Lend an item, or choose to give it away.

02Who you share with

Select the circles for that item.

03What you agree

Discuss the practical details with the other person.

A few practical details

Before you pack

Clear arrangements leave more room to enjoy sharing.

How do collection and return dates work?

The owner may ask for collection and return dates. Add them when requested and agree the details together. Sending a request does not automatically reserve the item.

Can I give an item away?

Yes. Choose the giveaway option when sharing it. Agree collection with the recipient; there is no return for a giveaway.

Is borrowing always free?

Free sharing is encouraged. Some owners may ask for a contribution towards operating costs, so check the item’s details. Cirklr membership is separate from any arrangement between you.

What if I haven’t joined a circle yet?

Start with an invitation or find a circle to join. Each circle has its own joining options. You can also create one for your group.

If you need to log in or create an account, keep the link you received. Open the same invitation again if you do not reach the circle. Ask the circle admin for a new link if the invitation no longer works.

Can we leave reviews?

After a completed loan or giveaway, eligible participants can leave stars, tags and an optional comment. Reviews can be left within 7 days after the exchange ends.

Your turn

What’s the next thing
you’ll only need once?

Make an account, join a circle and take it from there.

You need to be 16 or older and have an email address and a Swedish phone number to create an account.
